The installation is a total environment in which the fragmented narrative of a central character unfolds itself through various features within the room. these include diary entries, photography, moving image and sound. Three machines are the basis of the installation and they interact with the movement of the audience in the space. Concealed LDR circuits are used in conjunction with the arduino microprocessor and code to determine when the machine's become active through interacting with the shadows of the viewer. The room portrays the erratic and often absurd nature of the characters situation, within a specific period of his existence; mostly through obsessive research methods and exploration of obscure beliefs. As such the installation can only hint and speculate as to the fate of the character, after his disappearance three years later.
The work is concerned with the eccentric, obsessive and adventurous elements of human nature and the world we inhabit whilst engaging in issues of lo-fi technology, abandoned objects, alienation and belief.
